INTRODUCTION The Physics Study Program at the Faculty of Science and Technology, State Islamic University Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, conducts research in various fields of science with three main areas: Geophysics, Instrumentation, and Materials. These fields are in line with the groups of teaching fields and student specialization, so that the final research projects conducted by students assist/support the research conducted by lecturers. The main research areas can be explained as follows: Geophysics Research in the field of Geophysics includes studying the subsurface conditions, exploring subsurface resources (minerals and ores), exploring areas for oil and gas prospects, Geomagnetic studies, geothermal research, seismology, and studies on earthquakes and disasters. Research in these fields can collaborate with the Mining Engineering program and several research institutions outside the campus such as BMKG (Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency), BRIN (National Research and Innovation Agency), and LEMIGAS (Research Institute for Oil and Gas). Collaboration can also involve various industries and oil and gas companies. The staff involved in this research are:

Materials The field of Material Research encompasses material characterization, synthesis and processing, theory and simulation of new material engineering, functional materials, condensed matter, biomaterials, and biomaterials. Research in this field is typically carried out in collaboration with the BRIN research agency for instrumentation purposes.
